Joshua - My Sunshine

Well, this may be a couple of years late, but when am I ever on time?  😂  This is about Joshua graduating from high school.  He graduated St. John Vianney in 2017 and started Bourgade Catholic High School in the fall.  "The boys" all ended up BCHS. Joshua, Noah, Izzy and Joseph.  For his sophomore year, Joshua (and Joseph) decided he wanted to switch to the new Catholic high school on the west side, St. John Paul II Catholic High School.  (In hindsight, I wish we would have made him stay at Bourgade, but no time for Monday morning quarterback.)

His three years at JPII flew by.  Three years and he was part of the FIRST graduating class of JPII.  The class of 2021.  Because we were still dealing with COVID we could not have a big celebration but we were able to have a family dinner.  And (again) because of COVID, Alexandra missed the graduation.  But we did celebrate our baby boy.  He was 17 when he graduated, and those 17 years flew by.  I can still remember dropping him off at SJV with Mrs. Zuelger and Mrs. Garcia, when he told me "you can leave now."  I went about my work day and at about 1 PM I was on a call with a co-worker and I just started balling.  My baby boy was in preschool.

Here is Joshua enjoying ice cream (our first day of school tradition) and with Mrs. Zueleger.

I'm so proud of Joshua.  He does not think I am.  But he survived two high schools, and the big one, COVID.  He did what he needed to do and earned that high school diploma.  Great job Joshua!  We love you!!!!

And then she graduated from high school...

Well, it happened. 18 years went by in a snap. One day she was born the next she is a high school graduate.  She has worked hard her four years at Xavier College Preparatory. She tried new things, met new friends and achieved so much.

I vividly remember her entry to this world, from eating a Tina's burrito for dinner to telling Anthony to %$# clock when he told me to focus on it (something we learned in lamaze classes).  The doctors lost her heartbeat for a few minutes. It was scary when all the doctors came into my room and didn't tell us anything until after wards.  Then when my OB finally came to check on me and five minutes later says, "I'll be in touch with the hospital."  I told her . . . "Why are you leaving?  Can't you just take the baby out now?"  The answer was no, she wanted me to try natural.  And three hours later, she's back for my emergency c-section.  They prepped, had Anthony wait, then brought him in when they were ready to deliver the baby. Just a minute or two later, the Dr. says "it's a girl."  Our beautiful Alexandra.  What happened next? I fell asleep and was snoring. I was tired!! Apparently, I'm the only patient to snore in the operating room after having a baby.  LOL! My OB should always remember me.

It was a quick 18 and a half years.  But she is on to bigger and brighter things. I can't wait to see what God has planned for this beautiful young lady.  She will be attending Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, in the Fall.  She will be so far away, but I'm so happy for her.  God bless you, Alexandra! Always remember, I LOVE YOU MORE THAN DISNEYLAND.

Joshua PROMOTED to High School

My how time flies!  Seems like yesterday that Joshua decided that 8 months time in the womb was more than enough, so he made his debut in the world.  Fast forward 13 years and he's graduating from 8th.  He is officially part of the St. John Vianney Class of 2017.

He started SJV when he was 4, in Preschool.  Here he (and the family) met some life long friends:  Noah, Chris, Abbygail, and Paul. Below is Joshua with Mrs. Zueleger on the last day of Preschool in 2006.

Now he is a graduate.  He is growing up too fast.  Both kids are! My heart melts.  Yes they get on my nerves every now and then, but my they are my heart.  Here's Joshua on the day of his 8th grade graduation.  Pictures with friends and teachers.
